Oil Lamp – Cast Iron

Designed by Matthew S. Hall in 2008, each piece is marked with the designer’s initials ‘MSH 2008’ at the base.
These quality oil lamps combine a classic old material with a modern style that balances shapes and angles. The lamps are cast from recycled iron at a family owned iron foundry in Rhode Island.

– Lamp oil and wick NOT included with purchase

To Use:

1. To install or replace the wick into the lamp, use sharp scissors to cut the frayed strands off, making the end smaller/pointed, then gently in a twisting motion slide the wick in and through the hole. (TIP: It may help to wet the tip with oil for immediate use or a drop of water for future use).
2. To Use: fill your lamp with oil at the reservoir leaving at least a quarter inch from the top edge of the lower end (the use of indoor-use lamp oil is recommended. Read description/warning labels of the oil before using with the product).
3. Allow some time for the wick to absorb the oil. Then carefully kindle the wick with a lighter away from the reservoir.

Care & Handling:

The seasoned black finish of the product may wear off over time adding character to each piece. However, repair of surface finish is provided for free up to a year from the purchase date NOT including shipping and handling. When finished using the product for its intended purpose, wait for the product to cool down before stowing away the product. Empty the oil from the product before stowing away. Use a dampened towel to clean.

As seen in the pictures: Lamps measure 5″ 5/32″ long by 4″ 5/32″ wide. 1″ 7/16″ tall at the higher end and 1″ tall at the shorter end.

Used responsibly, your oil lamp provides a beautiful flame for several hours depending on how much oil you add to it. This lamp can last you for generations to come if cared for.
