Turtle Shell Necklace
$55.00
This turtle shell was meticulously sculpted by hand out of wax, to be as realistic as possible and durable enough to last forever, then cast is solid bronze.
Each one is carefully cleaned, brushed to a beautiful finish and individually inspected for quality before a coating of Renaissance Wax.
A length of 3mm dark blue Paracord is provided for your to tie a loop big enough to fit over your head. I like mine to fit over without the shell attached and then too small to remove the necklace without removing the turtle first.
Instructions: As seen in the photos, pinch a small long loop to slide through the shell cavity, pull it past the length of another shell and bring the loop up/in front and over, to drop into the notch you first fed the loop through. Pull the turtle against to tighten the connection and enjoy.
Inspiration: As a young VT boy, I would often see turtles crossing the roads and would carry them to the other side or back to the water if they were headed that way. The most common turtle I found was the Eastern Painted Turtle, which I always liked due to their beautiful/smooth shells, nice nature and beautiful markings. During my first jewelry class in high-school, I fabricated a turtle shell necklace from brass sheet and wore it the same as this piece. After years of compliments on my necklace and people asking to buy mine or make them one, I’ve now made a far better version and I’m honored to share them with you.
Bonus: The size and texture make it an exceptional “worry-stone” type pendant. Not assuming you worry too much but it’s satisfying to hold/feel.
